Mother

i'm sorry i couldn't wait to draw more of this monstrosity, The Guard Llama monstrosity, so i decided to start at the very beginning

just an illustration since i can't get my act together, taking place in 1936 Safed, Palestine when Ozis was 13. To top off an urising amoungst Arabs during that time, Ozis was also tormented fairly often by his alcoholic, psychotic mother. Yet he loves her dearly, growing a rather severe, debilitating case of Stockholm syndrome.
The night before Ozis was found by a kind Muslim woman, Ozis's mother in a drunken fit of rage lamented her derelict living situation, the damage done to her by a previous husband, and how her son somehow was never circumcised as a baby. She spends a good portion of the night chasing him, and in her own madness she tries to circumcise her 13 year old son with a letter opener, and Ozis thus struggles to get away how ever he can.
After a while of this, Ozis's mother resorts to trying to drown him in a near by river, and that's what's depicted here. mother of god, help me.
did you know that Palestine was ruled by a British mandate from (i think 18-something) until 1948 when it became Israel?  who knew.  i didn't know that until wikipedia.
